Book Review Policy

Hello, and thank you for the honor of considering me to review your novel! I am currently accepting requests! Please look over my review policy to help make this as smooth as possible for everyone.

First, please understand that even though I agree to review your book, that doesn’t mean it will be read immediately, or that the review will be posted immediately. In addition to running this website, I also work full time, and am a mom and wife. I will read, review, and post the review as soon as I am able. If the book is an ARC, I will do my best to get my review out on or around the release date for the book.

I also reserve the right not to post a review of your book. This could be for a number of reasons, such as I ran out of time, or didn’t enjoy the book. I will do my best to email you if I decide not to review your book, and tell you why.

In addition, I also reserve the right to write a negative review if I did not enjoy the book. All opinions are my own, and I do not mean to upset anyone, but I will not write a good review just because a book was sent to me. I want to be as honest and transparent as possible. By sending a review request, you are acknowledging that my review may be a negative one, although I promise I will keep it respectful. Please allow me the same courtesy. None of the negative reviews I may write are an attack, just my personal opinion. So, please, don’t attack me in return.

I will do my best to not only post my reviews to my website, but also to Goodreads, Amazon, and YouTube, as well as blurbs from my reviews to my Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram pages.

What I need from you is to please include a summary of the book, the release date, and any other information you feel would be relevant. If you have a time frame that you either expect or would like the book to be read and the review posted by, please let me know. This may impact my decision, based on my schedule and available time.

The genres I will read, but am not strictly limited to, are YA (Fantasy), (Fiction), (Dystopian), Adult Fantasy, and Pagan and Witchcraft spiritual, nonfiction novels (especially those with a Celtic Pagan tilt).

On the other hand, genres I will not currently read are most nonfiction and contemporary novels. I also am not interested in reading Wiccan spiritual, nonfiction novels.

I will accept physical copies of books, and while I will also accept digital and audiobooks, I will be much more selective about accepting those, as I do not use them as often.

My reviews will be a mixture between regular, single book reviews, and book lists. I have done both on my YouTube channel and simply can’t bear to choose between the two.

Please send all review requests to hallowe (at) hallowescauldron (dot) com. I will do my best to respond in a timely manner!
